Internet Explorer 9 is the newest version of Microsoft’s ubiquitous browser.\u00a0 The new interface is clean and crisp, providing a fast browsing interface with the convenient tabbed browsing structure we were introduced to in earlier versions.\u00a0 With streamlining, though, comes some inconvenience.\u00a0 Where has everything gone.<\/p>\n
The first thing that is missing is the menu bar.\u00a0 Where did it go?<\/p>\n
Open Internet Explorer and you’ll see the address bar on the top alongside the tabs but nothing else.\u00a0 Hit the ALT<\/strong> key.\u00a0 The familiar File, Edit, View<\/strong> menu will pop into place temporarily.<\/p>\n Let’s look at some of the convenient features available in those menus by category:<\/p>\n File Menu<\/strong> – New tabs, new sessions and printing options.<\/p>\n Edit Menu <\/strong>– Find on this page will help you find a word or phrase, use CTRL-F<\/strong> as an alternative.<\/p>\n View Menu<\/strong> – Click View – Toolbars – Menu Bar <\/strong>to keep the menu bar in view all the time. Click Zoom<\/strong> to make the page size larger or smaller.<\/p>\n Favorites Menu<\/strong> – Gives similar options and access to your favorites as using the star button on the far right of the screen.\u00a0 Add and organize your favorite sites.<\/p>\n Tools Menu<\/strong> – The most powerful menu.\u00a0 Use Delete Browsing History <\/strong>to clear cookies and temporary Internet files. InPrivate Browsing <\/strong>is useful for public or shared computers.\u00a0 Be assured that your login information to websites is not stored on the computer.
