Using QuickParts in Word 2010<\/h2>\n

Is there something you type over and over again in Microsoft Word.\u00a0 Just like your signature in Microsoft Outlook, you can automate some of your repetitive wording to save time and effort when you create documents.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Let’s look at the easiest way to automate something.\u00a0 I’m going to start with the signature line I use all the time at the bottom of quotes and bids.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Step 1: Type the information that will become your AutoText:<\/p>\n

Step 2<\/strong>:\u00a0 Highlight the text and click on the Insert Menu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Step 3<\/strong>: Look for the QuickParts<\/strong> icon and hover over AutoText<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Step 4<\/strong>: Click Save Selection to Autotext Gallery<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Step 5<\/strong>:\u00a0 Give it a name in the box that pops up.\u00a0 You can examine the categorization options later!<\/p>\n

Step 6<\/strong>:\u00a0 When you next need to use the Autotext, repeat going\u00a0to\u00a0the QuickParts<\/strong> option, and look for the preview of the entry you created.\u00a0 Click the preview to add it to your new document.<\/p>\n
