where the picture should be?\u00a0 This actually serves as a distraction from the actual issue.\u00a0 Look at the very top line.\u00a0 <em>Click here to download pictures&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Outlook is actually trying to be helpful and not downloading pictures from people or websites that you don&#8217;t know.\u00a0 In spammer terminology, these are called <em>beacons<\/em>.\u00a0 When you download the picture, it is coming from the spammer&#8217;s website, so they now have a bread crumb trail back to you and know that you&#8217;ve opened the email.<\/p>\n<p>Now, this email isn&#8217;t a spam.\u00a0 It&#8217;s from our friends out at the <a title=\"Wichita Business Journal\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/wichita\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wichita Business Journal<\/a>.\u00a0 I want to make sure those emails are seen, images and all and are not relegated to my junk email folder.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Adding a Sender to the Safe Sender&#8217;s List <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1: <\/strong>Left-click once, right where it says <em>click here&#8230;<\/em> and pull up your options.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_162\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-162\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-162\" title=\"The Options Menu for Images in Outlook 2010\" src=\"http:\/\/www.properwichita.com\/consulting\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/safesender02-300x67.png\" alt=\"The Options Menu for Images in Outlook 2010\" width=\"300\" height=\"67\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.properwichita.com\/consulting\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/safesender02-300x67.png 300w, http:\/\/www.properwichita.com\/consulting\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/safesender02.png 514w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-162\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Options Menu for Images in Outlook 2010<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Here are your options:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Download Pictures <\/strong>&#8211; A one-time agreement to download the pictures.\u00a0 You might choose this the first time you see an email from a company you aren&#8217;t sure about.\u00a0 The pictures will download and display.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Change Automatic Download Settings <\/strong>&#8211; Changes the default way Outlook handles this issue.\u00a0 It&#8217;s best to leave this as-is for now.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Add Sender to Safe Sender&#8217;s List <\/strong>&#8211; Safe senders are people that you know and trust.\u00a0 Once clicked, their email will display with all pictures and won&#8217;t go into your spam or junk folder.\u00a0 Think of this as your <em>whitelist<\/em>.\u00a0 Remember: this is just for this <em>email address<\/em>, not the <em>display name.<\/em> Above, the display name is &#8211; John Ek,\u00a0Publisher&#8230;\u00a0 The email address is reply@mail-1.bizjournal.\u00a0 This latter is what will be added.\u00a0 If John emails you from his own account, it will not be on the safe sender&#8217;s list.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Add the Domain xxx to the Safe Sender&#8217;s List <\/strong>&#8211;
